Violent Crime Reduction Bill

I am grateful to the noble Lord, Lord Thomas of Gresford, for his comments. He is right that training and the safety of staff, pupils and others in schools is important. He is right to raise the issue of false allegations because we know that some people can be malicious and mischievous. He is certainly right to refer to the appropriate way of conducting searches with the appropriate level of authority being present in the person of a senior staff member within the school. I am therefore happy to include the noble Lord in any further discussion that takes place on these issues so that we can better understand what we are seeking to achieve.
