Proceeding contribution from Lord Touhig (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 22 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Armed Forces Bill.
Armed Forces Bill
The hon. Gentleman has made an important contribution to the debate throughout the day from his experiences, but drawing on his experience, if at the height of an engagement there was an incident, perhaps such as the one he describes, would he not then ensure the success of the operation, the protection of his soldiers, and so on, and then get the matter investigated at a more peaceable time when it could be thoroughly considered, rather than take a decision in the way that he seems to be implying he would take one now?
