Proceeding contribution from Baroness Noakes (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 6 June 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Government of Wales Bill.

Government of Wales Bill

I am very grateful to the Minister for setting that out so clearly. Obviously it is something that we will all wish to study in detail. I say to the noble Lord in passing that it is a pity that the only example that he gave was of an organisation that no longer exists—that is, the Commissioners of Customs and Excise, which for over a year has been merged into another organisation called Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. Whether or not it has the power to which the Minister referred is an open question. I will consider what he said and beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. Clause 124 agreed to. Clauses 125 to 129 agreed to. Clause 130 [Welsh Ministers’ accounts]:
