Proceeding contribution from Baroness Howarth of Breckland (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 7 June 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill [HL].

Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill [HL]

My Lords, I have similar concerns. I thought that perhaps I did not quite understand how this would work. Maybe the Minister could elucidate further. I am concerned that an employer might end up with one of these people in their employment because they had not been on the barred list. I am not sure how that would relate to the CRB checks. The whole matter gives great cause for concern that one of these individuals may end up working in a restricted area of employment.
