Proceeding contribution from Brooks Newmark (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 4 July 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Israel (War against Terror).
Israel (War against Terror)
I have a brief question for the right hon. Gentleman. He has correctly pointed out that Hamas was elected democratically, but is it appropriate for the Foreign Minister of a democratically elected Government to say, as was said three months ago, that Hamas will not hesitate to kidnap Israeli soldiers"‘to exchange for (Palestinian) prisoners, should the opportunity arise’?" That was said by the Hamas Foreign Minister, Mahmud al-Zahar, on 7 March 2006.
