Proceeding contribution from Lord Hunt of Wirral (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 22 January 2007. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Legal Services Bill [HL].
Legal Services Bill [HL]
The comparisons are always difficult, but the Financial Services Authority utilises the Law Society as a frontline regulator. There is an agreement between the FSA and the Law Society that activities that would otherwise be within the aegis of the FSA are the responsibility of the Law Society. I give that only as an example. My only reason for giving the analogy of the FSA is that it is the example the Minister provided.
