Proceeding contribution from Adam Afriyie (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 13 March 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on Statistics and Registration Service Bill.
Statistics and Registration Service Bill
I am grateful to the Minister for giving way again so generously. I asked who would appoint members of the board, and I think that I heard him say that it was the Crown, but clause 3(2)(b) says:"ββat least five other persons appointed by the Treasury.ββ" Will he confirm that the Treasury will make the majority of appointments to the board?
