Proceeding contribution from Lord Howard of Rising (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 22 March 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Digital Switchover (Disclosure of Information) Bill.
Digital Switchover (Disclosure of Information) Bill
In a word, no. I cannot see why this should not be in the Bill or why one needs flexibility over a list of information. It should be possible to produce a list of what is wanted now because there cannot be a great deal more that is wanted. It would be much more satisfactory to have it there, than to give effectively a blank cheque to be able to ask for anything that is wanted. That having been said, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 17 and 18 not moved.] Clause 2 agreed to. Clause 3 [Offences]:
