Proceeding contribution from Brooks Newmark (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 17 April 2007. It occurred during Opposition day on Occupational Pensions.
Occupational Pensions
The point made by the hon. Member for Amber Valley (Judy Mallaber), which was the Chancellor’s argument, too, was that the measure would increase investments. However, the reality is that investment, especially as a percentage of gross domestic product, went down, which in itself leads the Chancellor’s thesis to fall flat on its face.
