He continued:"““The Lib Dems need to have a serious rethink of this proposal…Pensions under these proposals would become almost pointless””." Tom McPhail, head of pensions research at Hargreaves Lansdown, said that the removal of tax relief would have a"““catastrophic effect on pension funding””."
