Armed Forces Personnel
While the hon. Gentleman is in a bipartisan mood—and following the intervention from the hon. Member for Bournemouth, East (Mr. Ellwood) about the Falklands—will he acknowledge that this is not a new problem? Historically, there has been a shortage. Based on his comments about the way in which mental health has been stigmatised in society, he will know that there has been a problem historically in relation to the military. Work is currently going on. The response that he gave to my right hon. Friend the Member for Islwyn (Mr. Touhig) reflects a joining together of ideas based on an acceptance that mental health should not be stigmatised as it has in the past.
