Proceeding contribution from Lord Bassam of Brighton (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 27 June 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on Offender Management Bill.
Offender Management Bill
My Lords, I congratulate the noble Baroness on having won her amendment last time round, which gives me the happy opportunity of saying that unlike most occasions when the note starts with ““resist””, today it starts with ““accept””. We do so for the very good reasons that the noble Baroness set out. I ought to make it clear that the Governmentare still considering our position on the policy implications of the amendment, but I am happy accept this technical improvement and join in the general congratulations to our officials in the Box on helping to clarify the position. On Question, amendment agreed to. Schedule 1 [Probation trusts: further provisions]:
