Proceeding contribution from Meg Munn (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 19 July 2007. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe
We take our duty of care and responsibility for British nationals in Zimbabwe very seriously. We provide a full consular service in Harare. We are making efforts to ensure that all British nationals, including those who are vulnerable and elderly, are aware of the assistance that we and other organisations can offer them. The embassy is making particular efforts to identify and support those who are infirm or elderly and who may find it harder to access consular assistance. The hon. Gentleman has raised very specific questions about a particular group of people. I hope that we may be able to provide information to the hon. Gentleman a little later in the debate.
