Proceeding contribution from Earl Cathcart (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 14 January 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee of the Whole House (HL) on Climate Change Bill [HL].
Climate Change Bill [HL]
That was quite a useful amendment and discussion. We are trying to get a single UK trading scheme, rather than separate schemes in the four separate countries of the UK. The Minister used the term ““in concert””; that is exactly what is needed here. We are seeking uniformity across the national authorities, so that one gets a single UK trading scheme. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
