Proceeding contribution from Lord Bach (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 30 January 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill [HL].
Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill [HL]
moved Amendment No. 110: 110: Schedule 5, page 47, leave out line 8 The noble Lord said: This amendment is extremely short. It will remove the Civil Aviation Authority from Schedule 5. There is a very good reason why I want to do that—it was erroneously included in the schedule and should be removed. The CAA already has sufficient powers to ensure that it is able to discharge its statutory duties and therefore should not be included in the scope of the Bill. I beg to move. On Question, amendment agreed to.
