Would my right hon. Friend acknowledge that, as part of the equation on which he is focusing, European convergence funding has been extremely important in creating tremendous opportunities for the economy and job creation? He played a great part in that in the early days, when he was a Minister in the then Welsh Office, when we managed to get Conwy and Denbighshire on the objective 1 map, having previously failed to do so.
