Water Strategy

It is interesting that the penetration of water meters in the south-west is the mirror image of that in the rest of the country, where 70 per cent. of water is unmetered. The privatisation of water, as the hon. Gentleman prophetically indicated all those years ago, has been something of a disaster in many senses. Since that era, UK-wide household demand for water has gone up by about 55 per cent. Does he have any statistics showing whether that figure is lower in the south-west because of the higher penetration of water meters?
