Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill
My Lords, I had imagined that that matter would be dealt with by the noble Lord, Lord West of Spithead, but I did not see him in his place so I omitted to say anything about it. However, we think it wholly inappropriate for a non-legally qualified CPS employee to deal with a VOO, which is an assessment of whether or not somebody is safe to remain at large in society. It is wrong for somebody who is not legally qualified to deal with a matter which could lead to indefinite incarceration.
