Proceeding contribution from Brian Iddon (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 8 December 2008. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Employment, Universities and Skills and Housing.
Employment, Universities and Skills and Housing
That'll be the day, when they get the hon. Member for Harrogate and Knaresborough (Mr. Willis) to vote Labour. I am still trying. The best thing that has happened under the Labour Government is that the funding for science, and for STEM subjects—science, technology, engineering and maths—will have doubled in real terms by the end of the comprehensive spending review, taking inflation into account. That is a staggering success.
