Proceeding contribution from Mike Weir (Scottish National Party) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 16 December 2008. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Royal Mail.

Royal Mail

The devil may very well be in the detail, but we are being offered very little detail today to find out where that devil lurks. The Hooper report states:"““Experience from other countries suggests that the company could provide the universal service with around half its current mail centres.””" Does the Minister accept that, and what is his estimate of the number of job losses as a result of this announcement?
