Proceeding contribution from Anne McGuire (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 27 January 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill on Welfare Reform Bill.
Welfare Reform Bill
I look forward to reviewing the legislation that my hon. Friend piloted through the Assembly, which relates to the reassurance that I need from my Front Benchers today. On the proposals on drugs users, I understand that the SNP Government are refusing to co-operate with the approach highlighted in the Bill. I cannot for the life of me understand why the Administration in Scotland cannot see the importance of offering tailored support to drug users on benefits to help them get off drugs and into work.
