Proceeding contribution from Michael Jack (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 26 February 2009. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Banking (Asset Protection Scheme).
Banking (Asset Protection Scheme)
The long-term effectiveness of the Chancellor's measures is predicated on growth resuming in the British economy, but his statement referred to the International Monetary Fund's dire assessment of when growth is likely to return. Will the Chancellor confirm whether he still stands by his pre-Budget report, which indicated that growth would resume in the British economy in three months' time?
