Before the hon. Gentleman indulges in a further orgy of self-congratulation, will he concede that, contrary to what he just said—and as I shall demonstrate with chapter and verse if I am lucky enough catch your eye, Madam Deputy Speaker—my party did warn about the transfer of responsibility for supervising the banking system from the Bank of England to the Financial Services Authority?
