Blacklisting (Construction Industry)

I hear what my hon. Friend says, and his point is well made. The Minister will have heard it, and no doubt other Members will be thinking of tackling the issue in that way. There was a consultation in 2003, and as far as I am aware, only two bodies—the CBI and the Engineering Employers Federation—said that they hoped that the regulations would not need to be introduced. Given that we have shown that there clearly is evidence that they need to be introduced, I would think that those two bodies would accept the points that were made at the time of the consultation and agree that the regulations should be brought into force.
