Proceeding contribution from Evan Harris (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Friday, 27 March 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill on Royal Marriages and Succession to the Crown (Prevention of Discrimination) Bill.

Royal Marriages and Succession to the Crown (Prevention of Discrimination) Bill

We cannot presume the Queen's opinion or state what we think it might be, but although she cannot comment—she has been very good about that—there is no need for it to be a problem. The Government are, through Parliament, in charge of the matter. I do not believe that there is any question about its being an embarrassment to Her Majesty.
