Proceeding contribution from Andy Slaughter (Labour) in the House of Commons on Friday, 27 March 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill on Royal Marriages and Succession to the Crown (Prevention of Discrimination) Bill.
Royal Marriages and Succession to the Crown (Prevention of Discrimination) Bill
I apologise, Madam Deputy Speaker. That was a concluding peroration before I finally make my mind up about what to do. I did it only so that I could mention the fact that the previous Liberal Democrat leader, the right hon. and learned Member for North-East Fife (Sir Menzies Campbell), relatively recently called for a "bicycling monarchy" and""said it was 'time to start again' on the constitutional position of the Queen.""
