My hon. Friend is making very good points. He will know that had the 5 March announcement of an increase in quantitative easing been made under the previous Conservative Government, we would have heard outraged voices from the then Labour Opposition about the debauching of the currency and of the economy. Does he deprecate the fact that to this day we have still not had a proper and full debate in Government time on the specific issue of quantitative easing?
