Finance Bill
My hon. Friend makes a vital point about the importance of confidence in trying to rebuild the economy. Indeed, I was coming to the view of David Kern, the chief economist of the British Chambers of Commerce, who has said that""it is doubtful if the measures announced today"" in the Budget—""will alleviate significantly the jobless situation."" I would be interested to know what the Minister's response is to Mr. Kern's observation.
