Clause 131 requires the Lord Chancellor to make regulations concerning the retention and return of knives seized in court premises in Northern Ireland under new Clause 5A(5) of Schedule 3 to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2004. We had intended that these regulations should be subject to the negative resolution procedure. However, the Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee questioned whether Clause 131, as drafted, achieves this. These amendments make the necessary changes to the 2004 Act and ensure that the regulations will be subject to the negative resolution procedure as intended. I beg to move. Amendment 191AB agreed.
