Hospital Trusts (Essex)
May I remind the Secretary of State that new Labour was originally elected on the slogan "24 hours to save the NHS"? That now rings all too hollow to people who rely on Colchester general hospital for their health care. Will he reflect on that? Will he also explain why he is still having to make announcements of this nature, given that health expenditure has doubled since the Government were first elected?
