Proceeding contribution from Lord Mackay of Clashfern (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 13 January 2010. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Equality Bill.

Equality Bill

We are seeking to privatise the practice that should arise from the belief. If you do not act according to your beliefs, they are not worth very much. Belief is normally demonstrated as genuine by the way in which the person lives. We have spent as long as we ought—or maybe longer—on this amendment, so I beg leave to withdraw it. Amendment 57A withdrawn.
