Proceeding contribution from Lord Razzall (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Monday, 18 January 2010. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Digital Economy Bill [HL].
Digital Economy Bill [HL]
I thank the Minister for that reply. Before withdrawing the amendment, I shall take up his comments on Amendment 108. Given the significant debate that we keep having, quite rightly, about the natural justice elements of these proposals to ensure that the individual has the appropriate opportunities to go through all the relevant appeal procedures before being turned off, it is important that, before the Bill becomes law, the Government give a clear indication of the sort of fee arrangements that they will recommend in relation to that appeal mechanism. It is one thing if it is £10, but it is another thing if it is a maximum of £1,000. It is important that the Minister is prepared to do that—not today, but before the Bill leaves your Lordships’ House. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 88 withdrawn. Amendments 89 to 92A not moved. Amendment 93 Moved by
