Capital Gains Tax (Rates)
The right hon. Gentleman is itching to get back in, but let us be clear. The Chancellor's words—the words a Chancellor uses in his Budget speech are a grave matter—were:""It is a progressive Budget."—[Official Report, 22 June 2010; Vol. 512, c. 180.]" I cannot see how that can possibly be the case, but perhaps the right hon. Gentleman, in his newfound role of defending the Conservative party, can.
