Proceeding contribution from Danny Alexander (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 6 July 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill on Finance Bill.
Finance Bill
I will not give way. Clause 7 amends the tax rules for the expenses incurred by Members of Parliament, following the creation of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority. I know that that is of interest to many Members. The clause will broadly have the effect of maintaining the tax system and treatment that applied to similar expenses paid under the previous regime.
