Proceeding contribution from Liam Byrne (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 20 July 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill on Finance Bill.
Finance Bill
I rise with the ambition of being helpful to the Minister as he will not want to knowingly or unknowingly mislead the House. He will know that the OBR forecast on page 101 is a forecast of what tax receipts will come in on the basis of the Budget set out in the Red Book. These things are entirely consistent with each other and the forecast has nothing to do with previous Budgets or previous OBR estimates. Will he confirm that for the House?
