The Budget as it relates to Wales
The Chief Constable of North Wales has said that the in-year cut of £1.4 million to the budget this year, over the budget that I agreed as Crime and Policing Minister in February, will lead to police officer cuts, as will the 25% cut in the Home Office funding over the next three years. How does the Chief Secretary square that with his party’s election pledge to put 3,000 extra police officers on the beat?
