The Budget as it relates to Wales

It is for the spending review to determine the precise nature of the savings that we make, and the distribution of those savings between Departments. Those decisions have not been made, and that is therefore a judgment that can be made only once the spending review has been published. It is for the Welsh Assembly Government to decide how they disburse their share of the savings—[Hon. Members: ““It is not a devolved matter.””] I understand that. I am making a wider point. Hon. Members should just listen for a second. It is for the Welsh Assembly Government to decide how they disburse their share of the savings, but in the context of the spending review and the Home Office budget, until those decisions have been made I cannot comment on the impact.
