Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales)

I have in my hands a copy of the notification that I received at 08.55 this morning. It is an e-mail sent from the office of the Chief Secretary, copied to the leader of Plaid Cymru and to the Wales Office, and it contains a copy of the Chief Secretary’s statement. That was the first I knew about it. It would have been decency on the part of the right hon. Lady and courtesy to the Committee to have negotiated that in advance, to have informed the Opposition that she proposed to invite the Chief Secretary—who is not even here now—and for members of the Committee to have a chance to anticipate it. Instead, she has deliberately curtailed the opportunity for hon. Members to put questions to her and to make their own speeches on both the Budget and the Queen’s Speech.
