Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales)

I want to make some progress. As we heard from the Chief Secretary to the Treasury earlier, last week’s emergency Budget was tough but fair. It sets out a five-year plan to rebuild the UK economy. Many of the Budget measures will be of particular benefit to Wales. More than 600,000 Welsh pensioners will benefit from the guarantee on uprating the state pension. More than 1 million Welsh basic rate taxpayers will benefit from the increase in income tax allowances, and all Welsh businesses will benefit from reducing the costs of regulation for business.
