Proceeding contribution from Cheryl Gillan (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 30 June 2010. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales).
Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales)
None whatsoever. The Treasury has made a generous offer to people to contribute to areas on which they think we can make cuts to reduce the size of the state and deal with the appalling deficit with which the previous Government left us. I understand that it has received plenty of suggestions from members of the public, public sector workers and others. I am not sure whether a single Opposition Member on the Committee has made a constructive contribution to the Treasury. Will they please stand up if they have submitted something?
