Proceeding contribution from Mark Williams (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 30 June 2010. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales).

Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales)

I was not aware that the hon. Gentleman was at the public meetings that we held in Aberystwyth with the student communities and others. Perhaps his friends were. He came to Ceredigion on one occasion to a shabbily attended meeting in Aberystwyth, but I do not think Trident was an issue. My opposition to Trident was on the basis of cost. That was articulated at every meeting, and the hon. Gentleman will find that it had the overwhelming support of the Ceredigion electorate in the general election. I argued against the cost issue, which is still to be considered by the coalition Government.
