Proceeding contribution from David TC Davies (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 30 June 2010. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales).

Legislative Programme and Budget Statement (Wales)

We are going a long way from the remit of a humble Chair of the Welsh Affairs Committee. The Chief Secretary was here earlier; why am I getting all the financial questions? I do not like the word ““gamble”” but, of course, we cannot be 100% certain of the outcome of all this. We cannot be certain what the outcome would have been if our credit rating had been downgraded, but it would have been dire for all of us in Wales. I hope that I will be ““tarian y gweithwyr”” and I am sorry that the Welsh word for cut, ““toriad””, is so similar to one of the more pejorative terms for the word ““Conservative.””
