Comprehensive Spending Review
My hon. Friend makes a very telling point. If we were the reckless, irresponsible Government that the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats are now maintaining that we were, why did they say that they would carry on with our spending plans before the financial crisis? He is absolutely right to make that point.
