Comprehensive Spending Review
I am grateful to the hon. Member for Aberconwy for giving way. I want to point out a simple fact. He repeated several times today that unemployment rose under Labour. Yes, it rose at the end of our period in government. However, when we came to office, 2 million people were unemployed. At the end of 2008, when the financial crisis struck, 1.5 million people were unemployed, and then it rose due to the crisis. [ Interruption. ] It is not selective.
