Proceeding contribution from Philip Davies (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Friday, 21 January 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill on Sale of Tickets (Sporting and Cultural Events) Bill.
Sale of Tickets (Sporting and Cultural Events) Bill
The hon. Member for Hyndburn (Graham Jones) has made a fair point. Some tickets do say that they are non-transferrable and it is for those promoters, if they wish, to take to court anybody who they find in breach of that to enforce the non-transferrable status. The hon. Lady and the hon. Gentleman might want to reflect on the reluctance of promoters to do so. They might discover that that reluctance is born out of the fact that a court would probably find such an approach to be a restriction in trade and that the term ““non-transferrable”” was not enforceable.
