Public Forest Estate (England)
I will not give way to the hon. Gentleman. He has not been here for the whole debate. Today in New York, the United Nations is launching the international year of forests, which is described on the UN website as ““Celebrating Forests for People””. Our Government seem to be out of step not only with public opinion here but with the rest of the world. Some things are too important to leave to the market. Our ancient woodlands should be for the whole nation, and kept safe for future generations, not sold off for a quick buck.
