Proceeding contribution from Richard Ottaway (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 28 February 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Libya and the Middle East.

Libya and the Middle East

I agree with the Prime Minister that, in view of the complete chaos that has engulfed Libya, there is a real opportunity, together with our European partners, to expedite the downfall of the present regime and create a post-Gaddafi structure in the vacuum. However, does he agree that, given Libya's appalling record on human rights, it was a complete misjudgement to enter into a defence co-operation agreement with it?
