Proceeding contribution from David Winnick (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 14 March 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Japan and the Middle East.
Japan and the Middle East
The United Nations Security Council is the right way to pursue this matter. Was there any explanation at the European Council meeting of the bombs, the torpedoes, the rockets and the missiles that have been sold to the Libyan regime by France, Italy and Germany—that is apart from what we have been selling up until the past few weeks? What on earth did the Governments believe those arms were going to be used against?
