Proceeding contribution from Lord Beamish (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 12 July 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill on Public Bodies Bill [Lords].

Public Bodies Bill [Lords]

My right hon. Friend and I had dealings with some of the families of those who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Does he agree that what they want are inquiries that are not only thorough but are conducted in a timely fashion, and that they also want the role of the chief coroner to be independent of the Ministry of Justice, not part of it?
