Proceeding contribution from Lord Freud (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 31 October 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill on Pensions Bill.
Pensions Bill
My Lords, this group of amendments cover Part 3 of the Bill. I am most grateful to the noble Baroness, Lady Drake, for her remark that the amendments are technical in nature and that she has no problem with them. Perhaps I may pick up the point made by the noble Baroness, Lady Turner, on private occupational pension schemes. I can confirm that these underpin arrangements are about the ability of such schemes to maintain their own arrangements. There is no legislative pressure on them in that way. Motion agreed.
